Naji Hakim succeeded Olivier Messiaen as organist of l'église de la Trinité in Paris, holding the position from 1993 to 2008.

In 1962, the organ underwent significant modifications to align with the then-dominant neobaroque tonal aesthetic, including changes to pipework and removal of characteristic Stahlhuth stops.

The Stahlhuth-Jann organ in St. Martin's Church, Dudelange, was originally built in 1912 by Georg and Eduard Stahlhuth, incorporating German, French, and English organbuilding characteristics.

From 2001 to 2002, organbuilder Thomas Jann restored and extended the organ to 78 speaking stops, allowing for stylistically authentic performance of German, French, and English romantic symphonic repertoire.

Naji Hakim, the composer and performer on this album, studied with Jean Langlais and at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, earning seven first prizes.

The 1912 Stahlhuth organ featured a high-pressure Tuba mirabilis 8' in the Positiv-Swell division, voiced on 300 mm, a borrowing from English organbuilding.
