Handel moved to London, which became his adopted home, and lived there until his death in 1759, composing some of his most famous music in his house at No. 25 Brook Street.
Composition History
Handel was forced to publish these keyboard suites in 1720 because 'surreptitious and incorrect copies of them had got abroad,' leading him to secure a Royal Privilege to protect his work.
Compositional Technique
Handel's keyboard suites break with the traditional Baroque keyboard suite form, which typically consisted of four dance movements, to produce works of great variety and imagination.
