The Op. 76 quartets were commissioned by Count Joseph Erdödy, chancellor at the Hungarian court in Pressburg (modern-day Bratislava), who funded his own private string quartet.

This album was recorded in Potton Hall, Dunwich, Suffolk, from February 27 to March 3, 2020, with Philip Hobbs as Recording Engineer & Producer.
