This album is dedicated to Hatto Beyerle, a founding member of the Alban Berg Quartett and mentor to the Maxwell Quartet, who passed away in 2023.

Recording & Production

This album was recorded at the Menuhin Hall in Surrey, UK, from March 1-3, 2024, with Philip Hobbs as the Recording Producer & Engineer.

Performer Biography

The Maxwell Quartet formed in 2010 at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and has since performed globally, including at London's Wigmore Hall and on annual US tours.

Composition History

Haydn's Op. 77 string quartets, published in 1802 and dedicated to Prince Lobkowitz, were his last, possibly due to his age or the emergence of Beethoven's Op. 18 quartets.
