Januibe Tejera's "Envol" was composed with and for Alice Belugou, the harpist on this album, allowing the composer to better understand the possibilities of writing for the harp.

Alice Belugou, the harpist on this album, has won several national and international competitions, including the Fritz Gerber Awards in 2017 and 2nd prize at the Dutch Harp Festival 2018.
Composition History
Jean-Claude Risset's "Luraï" was commissioned by Radio-France in 1992 and dedicated to Denise Mégevand, a harpist who worked to make the Celtic harp a contemporary instrument.
Compositional Technique
Jean-Claude Risset's "Luraï" uses a non-octave mode where intervals and harmonies change with tessitura, and a computer multiplies harp motifs and creates resonating filters like an aeolian harp.
