Vagn Holmboe's first concerto, a small violin and orchestra piece from 1938, remains unperformed, while his last, a concerto for string quartet and string orchestra from 1995-96, premiered six weeks after his death.
Composition History
The Concerto for Recorder, Strings, Celesta and Vibraphone was written in 1974 at the initiative of Danish child prodigy recorder player Michala Petri, and was dedicated to her.
