The title track, "Horizons" by South African Péter Louis van Dijk, was composed in 1995 for the King's Singers' first tour to South Africa after the change of regime.

The album aims to connect the concept of 'spirit' from different world religions, regions, and cultures, as 'spirit' is perceived individually yet similarly across cultures.

The album title, "Horizons - Der Geist weht, wo er will" (The spirit blows where it will), is inspired by a more than thousand-year-old Gregorian chant that opens the CD.
