Stéphane Tétreault, the cellist on this album, plays the 1707 'Countess of Stainlein, Ex-Paganini' Stradivarius cello, generously loaned to him by Mrs. Sophie Desmarais.

Recording & Production

The recording was made in the Raoul-Jobin Hall at the Palais Montcalm in Québec, Canada, over three days in January 2025.

Interpretation

Les Violons du Roy, the chamber orchestra on this recording, uses modern instruments but incorporates period bow copies and research into 17th and 18th-century performance practices.

Airat Ichmouratov, born in Kazan, Tatarstan, is an award-winning Canadian composer who has had his music performed globally and holds multiple master's degrees and a Ph.D in conducting.
