Minakakis's "Crossings' Epigrams" is an elegy on things irretrievably lost, drawing on Ancient Greek literature from Homer, Sophocles, and Euripides to express the human condition.

Composition History
Stratis Minakakis, the composer of "Crossings Cycle," was inspired to write the piece after witnessing the refugee crisis on the Greek island of Lesvos in July 2015.
Compositional Technique
The score for "The Meeting of the Waters" by Gregory W. Brown includes additions of animal names like chipmunk, racoon, and skunk, as well as place names like Massachusett and Nichewaug.

This album, "If There Were Water," was recorded in June 2017 at St. David's Episcopal Church in Wayne, Pennsylvania.
