The recording sessions for this album took place over three days in the Jesus-Christus-Kirche (Dahlem), Berlin, Germany, from March 25-27, 2014.

Rubén Durá de Lamo chose the repertoire for this album to be a "piece of art in its own right" rather than just a portrait CD, focusing on his enjoyment of the pieces and the tuba's sound in various ensembles.

Performer Biography
Rubén Durá de Lamo, the tuba player on this album, began playing the tuba at age 14, having previously played the euphonium for four years because the tuba was too large for him at age ten.
