Composition History
The organ chorale preludes on this album are from the Neumeister Collection, a manuscript compiled after 1790 by Johann Gottfried Neumeister, a pupil of Georg Andreas Sorge.
Instruments
The historic Wagner Organ in Brandenburg Cathedral, built in 1723 by Joachim Wagner, is almost entirely original and is considered one of the most important and well-preserved organs of the German Late Baroque period.
Composition History
The Neumeister Collection, found in the Yale University library, contains 38 works attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach, though most are copies by an unknown hand, not original manuscripts.

This album features performances on two different historic organs: the Weyland Organ in Olpe, Germany, and the Wagner Organ in Brandenburg, Germany.
Instruments
The Weyland Organ in Olpe features a mechanical tracker action and electric registration, with 164 of its 1758 pipes made of fine wood and 1594 from a high-grade tin and lead alloy.
