Legendary pianist Keith Jarrett is just as at home playing Bach as he is playing the jazz for which he is better known. His studio recording of The Well-Tempered Clavier Book 1 was made in 1987, and this live recording is from a New York City concert that took place just a month later. This is that live recording’s first ever release, in celebration of record label ECM's fiftieth anniversary year.
