Mark Fewer, the violinist on this album, has premiered over 200 works, with more than 50 written specifically for him, including a Juno-winning work by Canadian jazz icon Phil Dwyer.
Instruments
The recording also utilizes two Canadian-made bows: one by Éric Gagné crafted from pernambuco wood, and another by Bernard Walke made of purple heart.
Performer Biography
Mark Fewer is currently the first violinist of the Axelrod String Quartet at the Smithsonian Institution, where they perform and record exclusively on Stradivari and Amati instruments from the museum's collection.

The recording sessions for this album took place at Humbercrest United Church in York, Ontario, across several dates in late 2024 and early 2025.

The six violins used in this recording were made by David Prentice, John Newton, Mark Schnurr, Itzel Avila, Isabelle Wilbaux, and Sibylle Ruppert, with three women and three men among them.
