1/6Album & Artwork
The album is conceived as a musical stroll through Paris, with each track referring to an iconic location in the capital.
Compositional Technique
Due to a limited existing repertoire for accordion, the album includes transcriptions of works originally for other instruments, such as Rossini for organ, Piazzolla for bandoneon, and Stravinsky for orchestra.
Instruments
Félicien Brut performs on a Gadgi "Harmonia 6" accordion, which was designed and maintained by Stéphanie Simon.
Interpretation
The album features both chamber music and orchestral pieces, a result of Félicien Brut's desire to expand the accordion repertoire beyond solo works.
Composer's Artistic Vision
Félicien Brut, the accordionist, aims to combine popular French songs and classical music on this album, believing music can touch and move people regardless of genre.
Composition History
The album features three new works commissioned by Félicien Brut for accordion and orchestra from contemporary composers Fabien Waksman, Karol Beffa, and Thibault Perrine.
