Kapustin's Divertissement Op. 126, his first piano trio, was composed in 2005 at age 61, after he had previously expressed difficulty in fusing string and piano timbres.

Composer Biography
Nikolai Kapustin, born in Ukraine in 1937, was a self-taught composer who wrote his first piano sonata at age 13 and later studied piano with Alexander Goldenweiser at the Moscow Conservatory.
Performer Biography
Trío Arbós, formed in Madrid in 1996 and named after Spanish conductor Enrique Fernández Arbós, is one of Spain's leading chamber ensembles and was awarded the National Music Prize of Spain in 2013.
