Performer Biography

Justin Taylor, the harpsichordist, won first prize at the International Harpsichord Competition Musica Antiqua in Bruges at just 23 years old in 2015.

Olivier Talpaert, the double bassist, won first prize at the Royaume de la Musique competition in 1983, leading to a solo performance with the Orchestre philharmonique Radio France.

Recording & Production

The Orchestre de Picardie, supported by Sacem (Society of Authors, Composers and Editors of Music), hosted Jules Matton as composer-in-residence from 2020 to 2021, during which these works were recorded.

Jules Matton, the composer, is a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music and Dance in New York and was noted by John Corigliano for his "remarkable talent and impeccable technique."

Arie van Beek, the conductor, was a percussionist before becoming a conductor and has been the permanent artistic director of the Orchestre de Picardie since 2011.
