Composer Kenji Bunch stated that creating the ballet for The Snow Queen was the largest undertaking of his career to date.
Recording & Production
The Snow Queen score was commissioned by the Eugene Ballet Company with support from The Hult Endowment Fund of The Oregon Community Foundation.

Kenji Bunch's musical approach for The Snow Queen focused on defining two opposing musical characters: the cold realm of the Snow Queen and the warmth of Gerda and Kay's friendship.
