Joseph Martin Kraus, an almost exact contemporary of Mozart, spent most of his short career in Stockholm at the court of Gustav III.

The album features Walter Schwede on violin, Jacques Després on harpsichord and piano, and John Friesen on cello for the Trio in D major.
Composition History
Due to the court's preference for theatre, Joseph Martin Kraus had limited opportunities to focus on chamber works, but he did compose several string quartets and the violin and keyboard sonatas featured on this album.
