The Suite in C and Six Sonatinas on this album are parts two and three of Krebs's Clavier-Übung, a four-part publication published around 1744, similar to J.S. Bach's collection.

Interpretation
Steven Devine, the harpsichordist, chose a double-manual harpsichord for this recording because he felt it suited the texture of the sonatinas better, despite the possibility of clavichord or fortepiano.
