Ian Anderson, the violist of Duo van Vliet, is also the Principal Viola for Scottish Ballet and plays guitar and writes music for the alternative rock band yllwshrk.

Rafał Łuc, the accordionist of Duo van Vliet, plays a Pigini Sirius Millenium accordion, which was made on special order and purchased with support from the Ministry of Culture in Poland and the Royal Philharmonic Society, UK.
