Interpretation
Mahler's "Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen" (Songs of a Wayfarer) forms the dramatic core of this recording and is presented in a rarely performed higher version for tenor.
Performer Biography
Pianist Fiona Pollak was born in Vienna and won the Special Prize as Best Vocal Accompanist at the renowned Robert Schumann Competition in Zwickau in 2016.

The album features songs by composers from the Austro-Hungarian Dual Monarchy period, including regions that are now part of Serbia.
Interpretation
The performers, Ilker Arcayürek and Fiona Pollak, are from different origins and religious backgrounds, and met and began making music together in Austria.
