Conducted by founder Simon Phipps, the Swedish Chamber Choir's debut album for Chandos features a diverse selection of original and arranged choral repertoire. Ralph Vaughan Williams's beloved The Lark Ascending is performed in an arrangement for violin – here, Jennifer Pike – and chamber choir. Mezzo-soprano Maria Forsström joins the choir for an arrangement of a Mahler song, and the album also includes works by Judith Bingham, Wilhelm Stenhammar, Ola Gjeilo and others.
