Trombone Unit Hannover, formed in 2008, consists of nine trombonists who studied at the Hanover University of Music, Drama, and Media, and now play in leading German orchestras.

In 2011, Trombone Unit Hannover became the first-ever trombone ensemble to win the German Music Competition in its 36-year history.
Interpretation
Lars Karlin, the arranger for Trombone Unit Hannover, aims for his arrangements to sound as close to the original as possible, even if it means writing extremely difficult passages for the trombonists.
Compositional Technique
The suite from Prokofiev's 'Romeo and Juliet' on this album is a completely new combination of movements chosen by arranger Lars Karlin, not resembling any of Prokofiev's own suites.
