1/6Compositional Technique
Some pieces on the album are written for a single musician to perform multiple parts, such as on 'Cedar Tree' where Jakub Józef Orliński's countertenor lines are layered to sound like an entire vocal ensemble.
Recording & Production
For this album, Aleksander Dębicz took on the triple role of composer, pianist, and music producer for the first time.
Composer's Artistic Vision
Aleksander Dębicz, the composer, pianist, and producer of this album, defines beauty as a 'conglomerate of emotions that have a strong impact on us for some (usually short and limited) time'.
Composer's Artistic Vision
The album's title piece, 'Magnolia', lasts barely more than a minute to reflect the composer's idea of the evanescence of beauty, similar to how flowers bloom and then decay.
Recording & Production
The album features several guest musicians who are friends and frequent collaborators of Aleksander Dębicz, including countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński, guitarist Łukasz Kuropaczewski, cellist Marcin Zdunik, flutist Michał Żak, and horn player Konrad Gołda.
Recording & Production
Aleksander Dębicz recorded nearly all the material for this album in his home studio, except for the grand piano parts and the piece 'Where Flowers Bloom'.
