Composition History
The Mare Nostrum project began in 2005 as an experiment with just three concerts in Sweden, bringing together leading figures from European jazz.

The Mare Nostrum trio, consisting of Sardinian trumpeter Paolo Fresu, French accordionist Richard Galliano, and Swedish pianist Jan Lundgren, tells musical stories from the northernmost to southernmost points of Europe.
Interpretation
The mastery of Fresu, Galliano, and Lundgren is evident in their nuanced approach, creating beautiful and often melancholic melodies, scintillating textures, and subtle twists.
Recording & Production
This album was recorded and mixed by Rémi Bourcereau at Studio La Menuiserie, France, over three days in late September and early October 2024.
