During the recording of the Bach Cello Suites in Budapest, Maria Kliegel had to keep her hands in a bucket of water due to the studio temperature exceeding 30˚C after the air conditioning was turned off.

Maria Kliegel used several historical cellos for these recordings, including an Antonio Stradivarius 'ex Gendron' from 1693, a Matteo Goffriller from 1690, and a Carlo Tononi from around 1730.
