Composer Biography
Marti Epstein, the composer, was isolated from contemporary composition until college, where David Lang introduced her to progressive and experimental composers, and she later studied with Pulitzer Prize-winning modernist Bernard Rands.
Composition History
Most of the works on this album were written for and at the request of Marti Epstein's musical colleagues, primarily in Boston and New York City, with whom she has nurtured friendships and working relationships.
