Interpretation
Sjaella, along with percussionist Peter Bauer, created soundscapes using song, body percussion, mouth noises, and rhythm instruments, blending tradition with modernity.
Interpretation
For this album, Sjaella collaborated with native speakers or their descendants to research and correctly pronounce the songs.
Cultural Impact
The album includes "Txoria txori," a popular Basque song by Mikel Laboa, which serves as both a love song and an anthem for freedom, due to the suppression of Basque culture under Franco's regime.
