This album was recorded in mid-November 2020 in the Shinagawa area of Tokyo, using 5.6448MHz DSD Recording and 192kHz 24bit Editing.
Instruments
The album features both a modern violin by the Workshop of J.B. Vuillaume (circa 1850) and a Baroque violin made by Makoto Otsuka in Kyoto (1994).
Interpretation
The violinist, Janne Tateno, considers all four works on this album to be monologues, even though only the Khachaturian piece is explicitly titled as one.

The album's artwork features paintings by Hisanori Mae, an artist from Fukui prefecture, who often depicts wild plants past their peak on 'washi' paper.
Performer Biography
Janne Tateno, the violinist on this album, was born in Helsinki in 1975 and began playing the violin at age five.

The album's title, 'Monologo via Corda' (独絃哀歌), means 'Elegy of solitary strings' and was inspired by a poem from Ariake Kambara's second poetry collection.
