Alexey Shor, born in landlocked Kiev, now considers New York his home by the water and has enjoyed glimpses of the sea during his travels.
Composition History
Two of Alexey Shor's pieces, 'Lullaby for Mark' and 'Natalie's Waltz', were inspired by his own children, with the lullaby written during his son Mark's first months and the waltz on his daughter Natalie's birth day.
Recording & Production
This album features world-premiere recordings of William Walton's Viola Concerto (1962 version) and Alexey Shor's 'Seascapes' for viola and orchestra, and 'Two Songs for My Children'.
