Composer Biography

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's life is divided into two periods: his first 25 years in Salzburg, and his last decade based in Vienna.

Composition History

The Divertimento, or Concerto, K. 113, was composed in Milan in November 1771, marking a significant moment in Mozart's development as a composer.

Compositional Technique

The orchestral Serenades by Mozart, including K. 185, share common features such as being in D Major, written for full orchestra with trumpets, and having seven or eight movements.

The Divertimento, K. 113, was the first time Mozart wrote for the clarinet, an instrument that later became very important to him.
