Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's father, Leopold Mozart, sacrificed his own creative career to promote his son's precocious genius, undertaking extended concert tours of Europe.
Performer Biography
The Kungsbacka Piano Trio, formed in 1997, won First Prize in the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition and was selected as 'Rising Stars' by the European Concert Halls Organisation.
Compositional Technique
Mozart's Piano Trio in G, K. 496, originally intended to have a different last movement, now features a set of six variations on a gavotte theme.
Composition History
Mozart's first mature work in the piano trio form is the Divertimento in B flat major, K. 254, written in Salzburg in August 1776.
