After the 1917 Revolution, Nathan Milstein met Vladimir Horowitz in Kiev in 1921, and their duo later became a trio with Gregor Piatigorsky.

Nathan Milstein, like other great violinists, owned a Stradivarius violin from 1716, which he named 'Maria Theresa' after his daughter and wife.
Recording & Production
Much of this album features wartime recordings for the U.S. Armed Services, with Valentin Pavlovsky, known as Gregor Piatigorsky's accompanist, as Milstein's piano partner.
