The ARUNDOSquintett, founded in 2013, has its artistic home in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, which awarded the quintet a three-year ensemble grant in 2020.

Composer's Artistic Vision
The four wind quintets on this album are all inspired by other cultures, with Ligeti and Guth looking to Balkan folk music and East African trance, and Blomenkamp and Trojahn to French modernism.
Performer Biography
The ARUNDOSquintett has won prizes at international chamber music competitions, including Antón García Abril 2014 and Castilla y León 2015, and received a scholarship from the Werner Richard - Dr. Carl Dörken Foundation.
Album & Artwork
The album's title, "Origin - Home and Inspiration," explores themes of provenance, home, source, and identity, reflecting on cultural roots in music.
