Composer Biography
Sorozábal's father, a stonecutter, was also a talented bertsolari (a performer of improvised sung verses in Basque), from whom Sorozábal inherited a love for folk music and the Basque language.
Composition History
The 'Tres canciones nostálgicas' (Three Nostalgic Songs) were cataloged in Sorozábal's 1986 memoirs but were never performed in their intended form until this recording.
