Composer's Artistic Vision
Composer Francesco Fiore, who created a new orchestral score for Concerto No. 5, believes that the mature Paganini's style is closely linked to that of major Italian opera composers like Rossini, Donizetti, and Bellini.
Instruments
The violin used for this recording is Nicolò Paganini's own Guarneri del Gesù, built in 1742, which he affectionately called "my cannon violin" due to its robust sound.

Performer Biography
Massimo Quarta, the soloist and conductor on this album, won the prestigious 'Paganini' International Violin Competition of Genoa in 1991, being the first Italian to do so since 1958.
Composition History
Paganini was extremely protective of his manuscripts, personally distributing and collecting orchestral parts to prevent any part of his ideas from being stolen.
