Composition History
Palomo's Sinfonía Córdoba was commissioned by the Spanish Association of Symphony Orchestras (AEOS) for the Orquesta de Córdoba and its conductor Lorenzo Ramos.
Composition History
The idea for Palomo's Fulgores, a work for the unusual combination of guitar, violin, and orchestra, came from conductor Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos.

Lorenzo Palomo is considered the natural successor to Joaquín Turina, a Spanish composer known for his rhapsodic orchestral music, sharing a similar sense of freedom in his compositions.

Lorenzo Palomo, one of the most successful contemporary Spanish composers, was made a Knight of the Order of Isabel la Católica by King Juan Carlos I of Spain for disseminating Spain's name worldwide through his music.
