Lucienne Renaudin Vary, the trumpet player, had the idea for this album after performing Astor Piazzolla's works in South America, including at the legendary Teatro Colón and with the Cuarteto Latinoamericano.

Jérôme Ducros created the arrangements for many of the pieces on this album, including works by Astor Piazzolla, Alberto Ginastera, Nadia Boulanger, and Carlos Gardel.
