Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, the composer, was forced to leave Italy in 1939 due to the fascist regime's racial laws and anti-Semitism, with help from musical friends like Arturo Toscanini and Jascha Heifetz.

Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco's 'Platero y Yo' was originally conceived as a recitation with guitar accompaniments for 28 poems from Juan Ramón Jiménez's collection.
Recording & Production
The recording utilized advanced audio technology, including the DXD audio format (Digital eXtreme Definition, 352.8 kHz/32bit) and Pyramix DAW system with Horus preamps/converters.
Interpretation
Guitarist Niklas Johansen's approach to the work was shaped by the close relationship between the music and the deep poetry of Juan Ramón Jiménez, the author of 'Platero y Yo'.
