Ulfert Smidt, the organist on this recording, has been the organist at the Marktkirche Hannover since 1996 and is also a tutor at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover.

Ulfert Smidt's recording of sacred works by Johannes Brahms won the Echo Klassik in 1999, and his recording of works by Frank Martin won the prize of the Deutsche Schallplattenkritik.
