Raaf Hekkema, the saxophonist on this album, was awarded 'Instrumentalist of the Year 2007' by the German Echo Klassik for his solo CD Paganini Caprices for Saxophone.

The Pražák Quartet won first prize at the Evian String Quartet Competition in 1978, as well as a special prize from Radio France for the best recording during the competition.
Instruments
The Pražák Quartet performs on historical instruments, including a Lorenzo Guadagnini violin from around 1730 and a Paolo Albani violin from 1690.
Interpretation
The Pražák Quartet aims for a 'raw', untouched performance, reminiscent of early recorded music where no errors were permitted, even without digital editing.
