Thierry Fischer conducts the Utah Symphony in two brilliant Prokofiev works which both began life as film scores. Prokofiev turned his music for the film Lieutenant Kijé into a popular suite (which features the famous Troika), and his music for Eisenstein's film Alexander Nevsky later became a large-scale cantata for orchestra and chorus with solo mezzo-soprano. Alisa Kolosova is the soloist.
