Poulenc's Les Soirées de Nazelles, considered one of his finest works, originated from improvisations portraying friends who visited him at Nazelles.

This album features live and unedited recordings from the 2003 "Rarities of Piano Music" festival held in the historic Schloss vor Husum castle in Schleswig-Holstein.

Francis Poulenc, whose Les Soirées de Nazelles is featured, composed most of his music at his property, Grand Coteau, in Noizay, Touraine, which he acquired in 1927.
