The second harpsichord, signed by François-Etienne I Blanchet in 1746, was actually built by Johann Conrad Pixius, a colleague from the Palatinate.
Instruments
One of the harpsichords was built in Antwerp in 1628 by Joannes Ruckers, and later modified in 1706 by Nicolas Blanchet to adapt it for French musical practices.

The exterior decoration of the 1628 Ruckers harpsichord, painted on a gold background, is attributed to the ornamentalist Claude III Audran, known for blending Olympian gods, human-looking monkeys, and theatre figures.

The recording was made possible with the support of Château de Versailles Spectacles, a private subsidiary of the Palace of Versailles, which produces the musical season of the Royal Opera.

This album is the result of three years of work and ten years of collaboration between the performers, Loris Barrucand and Clément Geoffroy.
Instruments
The harpsichords used for this recording are historical instruments from the Château de Versailles, displayed in Madame Victoire's Apartments.
