Sergio Rendine's Symphonies Nos. 1 and 2 'Andorrana' were composed in 2006 and 2007, respectively, at the encouragement of conductor Marzio Conti.
Performer Biography
The Orquestra Nacional Clàssica d'Andorra (ONCA) was originally founded in 1992 as the National Chamber Orchestra of Andorra and was renamed in 2006.
Compositional Technique
For his Second Symphony 'Andorrana', Sergio Rendine drew inspiration from traditional Andorran music and old photos, developing his sound fresco from three traditional themes.
Composition History
The Second Symphony 'Andorrana' was commissioned by the State Government of Andorra and the Crèdit Andorrà Foundation to represent the Principality's culture and traditions.
