The Concerto all'antica, P. 75, was originally composed by Respighi as a joke for German critics, initially attributed to an anonymous composer.

Ottorino Respighi, the composer, studied violin and viola with Federico Sarti and composition with Giuseppe Martucci at the Liceo Musicale in Bologna.

Performer Biography
Salvatore Di Vittorio, the conductor, was entrusted by Respighi's great-nieces to edit, orchestrate, and complete several of Respighi's early orchestral works for publication.

This album features the world premiere recording of the Concerto all'antica, P. 75, using a critical edition published in 2019 by Salvatore Di Vittorio.
