The 'Suite for Klezmer Band and Orchestra' was commissioned by Finjan, a Winnipeg klezmer band, after their violinist Victor Schultz included a piece by Sid Robinovitch on a Juno-nominated CD.

Bramwell Tovey, the conductor, founded the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra's New Music Festival and served as its Artistic Director for 10 years, premiering over 250 new works.
Performer Biography
Daniel Koulack, a member of the klezmer band Finjan and soloist on this album, mastered the banjo in an incredibly short time, making his professional debut at the Winnipeg Folk Festival a year after starting at age eleven.
