Oskar Lindberg, born in Dalecarlia, remained faithful to his Dalecarlian ideal throughout his life, drawing primary inspiration from Swedish folk music.
Compositional Technique
Oskar Lindberg's Organ Sonata in G minor, Op. 23, has an unusual key arrangement, with only the first movement in G minor, followed by movements in A minor, D minor, and C minor.
Composition History
Emil Sjögren's Prelude and Fugue in C major, Op. posth. 110a, was revised and published posthumously by his friend Otto Olsson, who completed the last 14 bars of the prelude and 15 bars of the fugue from Sjögren's sketches.

Emil Sjögren, a distinguished composer of songs and piano music, did not obtain a post commensurate with his ability until age 36, when he became organist of the newly built Church of St. John in 1890.

The organ in the Katarina Church, Stockholm, built in 1975-76, incorporates parts from earlier organs from 1751 and 1863, including the original façade.
