Edwin Roxburgh, the composer, has received awards such as the Cobbett Medal for Services to Chamber Music and a British Composers' Award for his Elegy for Ur.
Composition History
The three string solos on this disc, titled Soliloquy for violin, viola, and cello, were commissioned by the distinguished teacher David Takeno.
Recording & Production
This album was recorded at The Warehouse, London, with some sessions taking place in January and February 2008.
Composer Biography
Edwin Roxburgh is also an accomplished oboist, having been principal oboist of Sadlers' Wells Opera (now ENO) and co-authoring 'The Oboe' in the Menuhin Music Guide.
