Ivan Sokolov, the pianist on tracks 1 and 3-5, began participating in music competitions at a young age, winning the Skryabin International Piano Competition and the Russian competition 'Novye Imena'.

Recording & Production

Tracks 1-6 of this album were recorded in Moscow in 2023, while track 7 was recorded in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory in 1989.

Composition History

Vladimir Komarov's Concerto-Poem for Cello and Orchestra was created in 1988 at the Dolna Krupa Estate, where Beethoven supposedly composed his 'Moonlight Sonata'.
